Healthy Superbowl Snack Recipes

Have no fear...healthy Super Bowl snacks are here! I've scoured the internet and hand selected these healthy and delicious alternatives to some of your Super Bowl favorites. Serve it up and enjoy!

Wings

Football is pretty much synonymous with buffalo wings and you are bound to find a platter of wings at just about every Super Bowl party this Sunday. Traditional buffalo wings are deep fried and tossed with a ton of butter and some Frank's Hot Sauce...not exactly the healthiest option for your heart, waistline, or digestive system. This Sunday, save some extra calories without sacrificing flavor and try some of my favorite health buffalo wing recipes.

Chips

Chips are a football lovers dream! They are a never-ending bowl of salty snacks that can be savored all night long. Chips are so incredibly easy to overeat because most of them have absolutely no protein and fiber. They have been stripped of their nutrients and processed into irresistible (not the good kind of irresistible) bites of fat, salt, and carbs. A large handful of chips contains over 150 calories, multiply that times 10 and you have got a days worth of calories in an appetizer! These healthy chip alternatives are loaded with protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals. They will fill you up with fewer calories so you can eat less all night long!

Dip

Everyone likes a good dip, including myself! Dips are a great way to add a variety of flavors to any meal. Unfortunately, dips are also a very big source of calories and little bit goes a long way! The average dip contains about 50 calories for just one small tablespoon! I don't know anyone who has 1 tablespoon of dip. Most people have at least 1/2 cup of dip on any given occasion...that's 400 calories for just dip! Don't let dip damage your weight loss efforts and try these healthy alternatives this Sunday. Always have a side of sliced vegetables (carrots, celery, bell peppers, cucumbers) on hand and/or healthy chip alternatives for dipping!
